On Janurary 11 afternoon, SM Entertainment organized their new album press conference at Seoul, Apgujeong-dong. Dressed in black, Yunho smiled, “It seems like I have grown taller.” It can be seen that the Leader made an effort to reply in a casual fun tone to lighten the atmosphere.
On Janurary 5, their new album clinched first in Weekly best selling album showing the notable power influence from TVXQ. Shim Changmin said, “When we are 5 members, we focused on harmonization. In this album, we are focusing on individual voices.”Jung Yunho added,”Other than that, it is important for our voices to complement each other. To fill up the stage’s emptiness, we added more dancers just like as before making a powerful dance.”
Because of new album, it is inevitable to create topics. In their conversation, it showed the feelings of the past two years “are tiring but missing the stage.” Members Kim Jaejoong, Park yoochun, Kim Junsu who lived together for 5 years have filed a lawsuit against SM Entertainment regarding early termination of their contract on August 2009. About this colleagues feel that the separation is a pity hoping for them to come back. TVXQ’s Leader Yunho, said “When my thoughts were so complicated, I wore a mask, riding subways and wandering aimlessly or went for mountain climbing. Be it 10 years or 20 years later, I hope this period will be the most cruicial moment for maturing.”
Regarding the three members using their initials to form JYJ, continuing their acitivites, they feel relectant to part. The youngest member Changmin said, “No matter what, we have been working as singers for a long time, thinking it now, I still hope to hear news of JYJ’s activities as singers.”
He stated both of them are determined to continue representing as TVXQ “TVXQ is created by SM Entertainment, and will only be alive with the existence of the company. Fans like TVXQ which is formed by SM. We did not leave this company till now and it will be the same in future.
However, they are careful towards controversial news on JYJ. Last year october, JYJ released “The Beginning” album which received 500,000 preorders overseas. Continuing, SKKS dram OST has exceeding 100,000 album sales. However, JYJ is unable to appear on television, music programs or variety shows. This is because SM Entertainment as the key corpoation contributor to korean federation of pop culture and art industry has sent official letters of request to the public broadcasting stations last year which seems to be effective.
Because of this JYJ faced difficulties in promoting locally and in Japan. Upon this Jung Yunho replied, “We have not much to say, even in the past (be it locally or in japan) we have faced such difficulties. Even now, we are trying to try all our means of channels to present our performance to fans.”
Regarding the issue of “Keep Your Head Down” directing at JYJ, they explained further. “The meaning of the song name is not to overlook others’ concern to you.” However, the lyrics appears “Leaving me so easily? Do I look too easy to talk to? You said you will never be back. Since then you believe that without you, I will fall. That is misconception, why do I want to be like that, why?” Yunho explain, “This is a song from a heartbroken guy sending away the girl he loved. At the beginning, listening to this song reminds me of my story, but from current situtation, it seems like it is misunderstood.”
Both members who are to be acted in television dramas “Poseidon” and “Paradise Ranch” stated “This year activity is mainly local activities and will defintely show to everyone the fact of Why TVXQ is still TVXQ”
